Report for Year 2011 - 2012

Nursing Training Program - Capacity Building and Social Uplifting OF Pakistani Women

There is a shortage of 3 lac nurses in USA alone. Unfortunately number of Pakistanis presently working in this field is negligible. FTEHRD has made it a priority area. We prepared Feasibility Report and proposed to help enhance quality of nursing colleges in Pakistan. It has been shared with different institutions for signing of JVs with foreign colleges. It is expected that female population will, in particular, benefit from it.
The main objective of this project is local capacity building and social uplifting of Pakistani women who are studying or practicing in healthcare field. Initially we will start two types of programs:

  1. Short Term Program

First one is short term program for the BScN who are already registered with PNC and want to get an opportunity of placement in healthcare sector in USA. For this purpose we will help establish a US based local satellite campus for training and capacity building of Pakistani Nurses with the cooperation of USA Institute according to international Standards.

  2. Long Term Program

2nd is long term program to educate nurses for BScN 4 years program. FTEHRD arranged cooperation between J. Brothers (Pvt) Ltd and Frontier Medical College (FMC) to conduct this project. We are already in contact and communicating with other healthcare institutes in Punjab to facilitate and run this program smoothly. For clinical practices, we are in coordination with healthcare centers and hospitals in Punjab region.

Activities of NITE (National Institute of Technical Education)

The said institution conducted three more courses during this year. It was thereafter closed due to lack of funds.
