Our Role & Plans |
The Foundation for technical education and Human Resource Development (FTEHRD) wants to develop a vocational education system that serves the demands of a modern, private-sector led economy. By building on the work with other organizations and Govt. departments such as the TEVTA, NEVTEC, NFRD and other technical schools/Institutes, the FTEHRD Vocational Education Project will help Pakistan build up the institutional framework needed to support a demand-driven vocational education system. Through greater labor productivity and strengthening of training systems, the Project is designed to increase employment (home and abroad) and income among unemployed and marginally-employed Pakistanis.
FTEHRD has identified 20 Technical Trades which will be in great demand in the coming years. It plans to train workers in these fields through reputed organizations like TEVTA, PITAC and NLC Training Centre Dina. All fees of the trainees will be paid by FTHERD directly to the Training Institutes so as to ensure transparency. This will be Qarz-e-Hasna, with beneficiaries agreeing to return it in installments on being employed. This will help FTEHRD circulate funds and benefit more people in the long run. Plan is to train and provide jobs to 2000 workers in the next five years. Assuming that each worker will send home RS. 50,000/month, the national economy is likely to benefit tremendously.
Our foundation will provide, where possible, free technical training leading to placement abroad. In this regard, help of corporate and Govt. sectors will be obtained.
